THAIS: MEDITATION (arranged for violin & piano)
Jules Massenet
The 1894 opera, based upon the novel by Anatole France,
combines passion and religion. It was groundbreaking in its departure
from metric rhyme in the text. Meditation was the entr'acte
between acts 2 and 3; it represents the spiritual awakening of Thais.
The MP3 solo has a two-beat lead-in.
