H.M.S. PINAFORE: excerpts Gilbert & Sullivan
This popular operetta was first performed in 1887 at London's
Opera Comique. It was slow to succeed, because the local snobs —
including Queen Victoria — had problems with the lyrics' blatant
mockery of the "Queen's Navee" and the aristocracy in general.
Theodore Moelling arranged the work for piano duet.
Sheet music includes the complete duet, primo part, and the originally published cover page.
