Sierra Newt

The newt's skin glands secrete tetrodotoxin, which is hundreds of times more toxic than cyanide.  Apparently only the gartersnake can live through a meal of one; and even that can work out badly if the capture takes too long, because the snake's mouth can become numb, enabling an escape.
