Jenny Canyon Snow Canyon State Park, Utah |
October 19, 2015
Having driven by this park many times, it has been on my radar for decades;
so it's about time that I paid a visit, with friend Gary to assist me.
The 6-dollar entry fee gets us a nice map. One of the closest
features shown is a short walk to a little slot canyon, which sounds like a
good place to start.
As advertised, a short quarter-mile walk gets us over to the cliff face and the entrance to a tiny slot.
There are mini-arches all over the place
End of the line, after just a hundred yards
A private memorial plaque has been installed inside the canyon, yet it says nothing about the nature or the location of the demise of the loved one.
Across the way is a nifty balanced rock; I hope it stays there
A mile or so up the park road, Gary and I find a picnic table under a tree and have a nice lunch.
Across the valley is an interesting mixture of black lava and red sandstone.
§: You might as well enjoy this pleasant little diversion,
because it's there and because it doesn't take much time at all.
