Ted's Hiking World Takakkaw Falls
Yoho National Park, B.C.

July 21, 2018

Just down the road from Wapta Falls is another waterfall that I visited some twenty years ago, but of which I have no good photographs.  At the turnoff, my windshield is checked to make sure that I have purchased the requisite (and expensive) parks pass.  Without it, travel is restricted to the Trans-Canada Highway.

After eight miles, the objective appears:

*
Takakkaw Falls, second-highest in Canada

The big parking lot is nearly full, but I find a space.  Street clothes will be sufficient for this stroll.

*

*
The paved footpath leads to a bridge across the Yoho River

* *

There are views in all directions

*
Takakkaw Falls, 833'

*
This is why I go hiking

*
Closer yet

Scrambling beyond the end of the trail does not improve the scene.

§: Well, this isn't really as much a hike as an amble to a tourist attraction — but what an attraction!

On the way out:

* *

Many hikers and campers are up there

*
Some drivers are having trouble at the sharp hairpin curve
