An Evening with the Giraffes
|
July 10, 2016
At a fund-raising auction for the now-private Sacramento Zoo, benefactor Pat Ingolia secured a special party for a number of her friends at the Giraffe Pavilion. Guests were treated to drinks, some delicious finger-food, and an up-close-and-personal tour of the barn where we met and fed some of the residents.

We were not able to visit with the 3-month-old baby
The calf was born on April 11, 165 pounds and six feet tall. Every new-born is important, because the giraffe population in sub-Saharan Africa has declined by 40% over the last 15 years.
