Ted's Bridge World The Master Play

#7: Impressing the Master

You have anticipated this round all evening, being anxious to test your skill against the local expert.  The Old Master is getting on in years, but his prowess as declarer has not diminished.

Sitting east, you participated in the indicated auction.  Having heard both a cuebid and a club raise from partner, south Blackwooded his way to a notrump slam.

Partner leads the 2.  Your jack is ducked, declarer playing the six.  Realizing that this could well be your big chance to earn an invitation to partner the club's best player, you consider your next action with extra care.
